Robotic & Cognitive Systems (:S)

As I said a year ago when I first posted on my blog I’m not fan of IT, and today I corroborated that I’m really not even interested on any IT field. But is always good if we are able take some learning from everything, as I read today on a friends FB post, MAKE IT COUNT. So I will, because I was sitting there for 6 hours listening to this very smart guys talk about algorithms, a complete unknown subject to me (thank God).

Today I found out that we will be supplanted by robots!! Yes, we will and we are! This was like watching an episode of Small Wonder, this show is a very old one that I used to watch every day. Imagine this: nowadays they are developing, or better say improving robots that learn like humans do. For example when we crash with a wall we will try to avoid it next time, well this robots do this! They are being designed to accompany sick children in the hospitals when they are hospitalized for long periods of time. So this companion acts like human, even makes mistakes and learns from them. Maybe we will see the point where Andrew is declared a human being.

About intelligent cars I can tell you little because there is nothing new to say, they are making them safer, more comfortable, ecologicaly friendly and energy savers. So, so far same thing different name. Right now they are not trying to develop a teletransporter, don’t know why because I find it very useful. With one of this the Flinstons got to meet the Jetsons, when would we had thought this could happen??

And last but not least (as then said) there is this thing called FET Future Emerging Technologies. Let’s see this, if they refer to the term “emerging” as in emerging countries there is a long long time we will have to wait. Based on history we can say minimum more than 500 years and more. I think in this area for example they are developing good ideas; the only problem is that many of us won’t be able to see them, because they are hoping to launch them about 30 years from now, so you do the math.
